The NEWTS (Newbury Tasting Society)

Aims of the Society

The Newbury Tasting Society provides opportunities for those wishing to enhance their knowledge and appreciation of wine. 

We are planning a variety of events from among the following possibilities:

• Informal evenings at various local venues in which a number of wines are presented either by members of The Newts or invited wine experts.  These will usually involve the tasting of selected wines with informative discussion of how to taste and appreciate wine, accompanied by a light buffet.
  
  
• Occasional 'themed' dinner evenings with a more formal meal accompanied by selected wines
  
  
• Visits to local vineyards, wine suppliers such as Berry Brothers & Rudd, wine events such as 'The Wine Show', etc.
  
  
• Although we are not planning any formal Membership fee, interested people are invited to join an email group for keeping up-to-date with future events.  The cost of each event will hopefully be covered by entrance fees, payable in advance.
